What Is LASIK Surgery?

LASIK stands for “ Laser-Assisted in Situ Keratomileusis,” and involves reshaping the cornea to remodel the corneal stroma (the thick middle part of your cornea) to correct vision impairments like myopia, astigmatisms, and hyperopia.LASIK and refractive surgical procedures have become increasingly sophisticated over time. Various new techniques, like bladeless flap incisions, wavefront customization, and larger spot areas have made laser vision correction more effective and less invasive.

Is LASIK Right For You?

LASIK vision correction is not advised for people with keratoconus (thinning of the cornea), some autoimmune diseases, severe dry eye syndrome, and other eye conditions.
